FORMER TREVIAN MAKES IVY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

menaker_picMarch, 2008 - Cornell sophomore third base- man Elise Menaker has helped the Big Red open its season with a 5-1 mark. Menaker, a New Trier alum, leads Cornell with a .643 batting average on nine hits, including three home runs and two doubles. With 20 total bases in five games, she has has notched eight RBI. The sophomore also is 3-for-3 in stolen bases, and has two sacrifice hits.


HABER NAMED VERMONT UNIVER- SITY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

April, 2008 - Kate Haber was named female athlete of the week at Vermont University on April 14. Haber hit .440 during her big week, with three doubles, a triple and a team-high nine runs batted in as the Cats went 4-3kate_haber on the week. In the first game of a double header at Albany on Wednesday Haber went 2 for 4 and broke the University of Vermont school record for career hits as she now has 150.


  PAULY NAMED BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR NORTHWESTERN

April 21 - Northwestern sophomore Nicole Pauly was named the Big Ten Player of the Week while classmate Lauren Delaney earned Pitcher of the paulyWeek honors following the Wildcats' 5-0 run last week. Northwestern began the week with a 5-0 win Tuesday, April 15, over Notre Dame before run-ruling its opponents in all four Big Ten games -- the first time NU has won every conference contest in one weekend by the mercy rule. The Wildcats outscored their foes 47-2 in their five outings. Pauly batted .538 during the week, driving in eight runs, scoring seven times and including a pair of doubles and two home runs. She slugged 1.154 for the week, making teams pay for putting the nation's leading batter Tammy Williams and Michelle Batts on base in front of her. The honor is the first of the season and the second in the reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year's career.
