Trevian Girls Softball Association

The TGSA was originally established in 1980 to provide a top quality softball program for girls residing in the New Trier Township. The organization has since evolved to welcome players from neighboring and nearby communities as well. TGSA strives to maintain a strong base of community players in the organization, while also opening its doors to players from nearby areas seeking a top quality softball program.

TGSA is a non-profit organization run primarily by parent volunteers.  Through participation in the Trevian program, its players learn responsibility, hard work, teamwork and how these things add up to group success. Trevian players also build self-esteem and the confidence to take on difficult challenges later in life.

The Division III regular season has drawn to a close, and the DI season is close to being done, so it's time to recap some of the accomplishments of our TGSA alumni college players. By our count, 15 TGSA alumni appeared in games on college rosters this spring. Here is just a small sampling of what they did (or in some cases are still doing), alphabetically by their schools.

At Benedictine, Courtney Grasz batted .405, with 7 HR and 38 RBI.

At Denison, TGSA alumni were an absolute offensive wrecking crew: Lauren Secaras batted .414, with 8 HR and 39 RBI (and won in-season NCAC honors); Laura Bagan batted .400 with 7 HR and 35 RBI (and won in-season NCAC honors); and Ryan Lee batted .338 with 2 HR and 22 RBI. Ellie Head made her first college appearance and got her first college hit and first RBI. On the bump, Colleen Hoffman had 28 IP, with 13 Ks and she pitched 1 complete game.

At Dubuque, Randee Jackson made 13 appearances and started 6 games. She had 47.1 IP and 15 Ks.

At James Madison, Mimi Morris has appeared in 30 games, with 15 runs scored. She was a perfect 6/6 in stolen base attempts.

At Lake Forest, Jenny McTague made 18 appearances and started 17 games. She tossed 111.2 innings, with 63 Ks and had a 2.32 ERA.

At Middlebury, Allison Quigley made 18 appearances with 13 complete games, had 98.2 IP, 63 Ks, and a 2.27 ERA (and won in-season NESCAC honors). Liza Tarr appeared in 23 games, had 4 doubles and 5 RBI.

At Northwestern, Lily Novak has appeared in 26 games, with 14 starts. She collected her first career DI hit and RBI this season, and posted a .942 FP. Abbey Boyd has appeared in 42 games, with 14 starts. She has scored 5 runs, and is a perfect 5/5 in stolen base attempts.

At Union College, Dana Dolinko pitched in all of Union's 29 games, making 23 starts and tossed 8 complete games. She tossed 128.2 innings (second in the Liberty League) with 53 Ks. She also posted a .955 FP, making only 3 errors all season.

Last, but not least, at Wheaton College, Meg Neuhaus started every one of the team's 38 games, had 7 doubles, 11 RBI, and led the team with 13 BB. She also had a whopping 180 fielding chances at SS.

Two other Trevs, Amanda Howell (Denison) and Katie Shade (MIT), were unable to play this season, but we look forward to their returns to the field next year.

We congratulate and salute each of our TGSA alumni on a great season, and we wish those whose teams have made the playoffs all the best of luck.

For those still in high school, just take a look at what our alumni do, and where they play. Play TGSA, and play NCAA!
