Irene Margiotta is a 2015 graduate of West Morris Mendham High School in Mendham, New Jersey and a 2019 Graduate of Middlebury College. She played for the Central Jersey Lightning fastpitch organization and was a four-year varsity starter for both basketball and softball at West Morris Mendham, serving as team captain for both sports during her senior year. Over the past three summers, Irene has worked as the assistant coach and head pitching coach for the North Jersey Avalanche 18u softball team.

 At Middlebury College, Irene spent most of her time in the circle. She was selected team captain her senior year. Also during her senior year, she set the program single season records for innings pitched (130.1) and complete games (18). In addition to athletics, Irene also served as a First Year Counselor and Peer Tutor on campus. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Middlebury College, double majoring in English and Education Studies. Irene recently moved to the Chicago area for her first teaching job at North Shore Country Day School, and is very excited to carry her passion for the sport over to the Midwest!
