What has playing softball taught you?
Playing softball has taught me the power of teamwork and unending passion. Balancing both the academic and athletic challenges of playing a college varsity sport has set me up for future success in excelling at many facets of life. I learned to provide and receive support from my teammates, and playing softball in college made my experience in school better than I could have imagined.
What was the most valuable part of your experience with Trevian Softball?
Playing as part of TGSA set me up for success in softball in high school and college. It gave me the opportunity to be a part of a team that competed for a common cause.
What advice would you give to young softball players?
My advice to young softball players is to try your hardest at both academics and athletics. You do not need to be good at one at the expense of the other. This is not easy, but the struggle is worth it in the end. No one can take away what you learn in the classroom or on the field.
What are you doing now and what town do you live in?
I am a Product Manager at Facebook, and I live in San Francisco, CA.
Any other favorite memories, comments or thoughts?
TGSA allowed me to meet girls from all over New Trier Township years before we would be high school teammates. This was an unexpected bonus because I started high school with an extended group of friends which made the transition from middle school all the more successful.
TGSA is where my love for softball began. Hard work and my love for the game took me to the NCAA Div. III National Championship – twice. This was made possible in part because of TGSA.
